UC Berkeley Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of City Planning graduate, with experience in site planning, transportation, and urban sustainability.
As a woman of color who grew up a newly gentrified community, I have a strong interest in the social and psychological elements of open space design. How can we re-envision land uses and landscape design principles to inspire community-centric spaces?
My experience working with public and private agencies in master planning, urban design, landscape architecture, environmental programming, transportation accessibility and financial planning has inspired me to discover new ways of creating engaging and exciting community experiences, at local to regional scales.

Summer 2021
UC Berkeley
Graduate Student Instructor & Researcher
Summer 2021 - Spring 2022
I am currently an Associate Landscape Designer and Master Planner in the Design + Planning department’s Master Planning and Landscape Architecture (Area Development) studios at Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, CA. I began as an intern in both departments in June 2022 and was promoted to a permanent position in December 2022.
While interning with the Cities team in Los Angeles, I assisted with various sustainability-focused urban design analyses. A major project of the summer was the Verdugo Wash Visioning, where Buro Happold partnered with !melk landscape architecture and urban design, to envision a revitalized, community-focused urban waterfront throughout the city of Glendale in Los Angeles County. I assisted with transportation and sustainability research, performing site analysis data discovery and drafting the Pre-Design Report on behalf of Buro Happold.
In Summer 2021, I assisted the City and Regional Planning Department’s instruction team in creating a set of urban design tutorial videos for incoming and current students. The 10+ narrated videos utilize Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, ArcGIS, and Rhino to produce photo collages, massing diagrams, street sections, board layouts, and figure ground maps.
In Fall 2021, I was the Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) for the undergraduate course CYPLAN 140: Urban Design: City-Building and Place-Making. My role entailed coordination and planning of four class field trips for all 100 students, visiting various neighborhoods in Oakland, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek to study diverse urban design scenarios.
In Spring 2022, I assisted with the Master of Real Estate Design + Development program’s Design + Development studio.
Oakland Mayor’s Office
Summer 2020
Partnering with the UC Berkeley Department of City and Regional Planning, I assisted the Policy Director of the City of Oakland’s Mayor’s Office with community engagement efforts and design review of the inaugural Oakland Slow Streets program. The position also focused Oakland curb management strategies during COVID-19, involving site analysis of various Oakland commercial districts and existing infrastructure.
Walker Consultants
Fall 2019 - Fall 2020
While interning with Walker Consultants, I was given the opportunity to assist with parking demand studies. By attending community meetings, interacting with stakeholders, and providing parking planning scenarios, I was able to experience a consulting role within public projects.
Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority
Fall 2016 - Summer 2019
As a Transportation Associate, Transportation Planner, and Administrative Analyst, I performed a wide range of duties while working for LA Metro. As a Planner, I forecasted local, state, and federal funding for all Metro projects over the next 40 years (rail, highway, street, bus, etc). This financial model provides revenue assumptions for project managers, vehicle purchases, the 2028 Olympics, and more. This role also entailed generating sales tax inflation scenarios and assistance in producing the Westside Purple Line Extension Section 3 financial plan. As an Administrative Analyst, I was Project Manager of Federal Transportation Earmark Exchange Grant Program and Measure M Multi-Year Subregional Programs, generating funding agreements for local transportation projects using sales tax dollars.
Seattle City Light
Fall 2015 - Spring 2016
As a Capital Projects Intern at Seattle City Light, I worked closely with a team of project managers, engineers, and designers responsible for utility relocation during the Waterfront Seattle project. Waterfront Seattle included the demolition of SR-99 highway bridge, rebuilding of the Elliot Bay Seawall, tunneling of the new SR-99, and redesign of the miles-long waterfront.
Education
University of California, Berkeley
Master of Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning
Master of City Planning, concentration in Urban Design
LDARCH 203C: Designing the Public Realm // Walter Hood + Anna Brand
This course entailed the design of world’s fair exhibition at Fairground Park in St Louis, Missouri. Throughout the semester, we worked independently to produce site planning documents and detailed garden designs. Final deliverables included the design of three themed pavilion gardens, a forest, maintenance and services, park entrances and exits, landform analysis, and detailed material guides.
CYPLAN 248: Advanced Urban Design Studio // Zachary Lamb
This spring studio consisted of team efforts to plan and design a sustainable housing cooperative and transit village in Balboa Park, San Francisco. The studio focused on the Green New Deal, with extensive site analysis measures and long-term planning and policy frameworks.
LDARCH 200A: Fundamentals of Landscape Design // Richard Hindle
This course provided a strong introduction to landscape architecture through site analysis and various design techniques including drawing and modeling, culminating in the production of a complete site plan and redesign. In Fall 2020, the site was the Lake Merritt Channel Park in Oakland.
LDARCH 234A & LDARCH 234B: Drawing the Landscape I & II // Walter Hood + Tyler Moore
This course was divided into analog and digital, instructing basic drawing techniques (perspectives, drafting, collage) and introducing common design software programs (AutoCAD, Illustrator, Rhino).
CYPLAN 140: ArcGIS for City Planning // John Radke
A well-rounded beginner and intermediate GIS course. This class provided opportunities to scrub Census results and local open-source datasets to create substantial spatial analyses.
CYPLAN 208: Plan Preparation Studio // Elizabeth Macdonald
This planning studio focuses on a larger neighborhood scale, covering all the bases of urban design, community planning, connectivity, and sustainability. An in-depth site analysis was conducted with a final group presentation of the extensive site proposal. In Spring 2020, the site was the Central Freeway in San Francisco.
LDARCH 240: Research Methods of Environmental Design // Ghigo DiTommaso
This lecture-based course is rooted in site analysis and research prior to design interaction. Learning how a site functions and for whom is crucial before beginning design and planning process.
